Ahh! That’s it- there’s one week left in the challenge and I have no idea where the time went. I’m going to be down to the wire for this project- I’m not even sure if I’m going to be able to finish on time. Not something I’m ready to admit to myself yet, but here we are…scrambling to finish on week five!
The good news that I got the bulk of the work done this past week, so now I just have to wait for small things to arrive. We started with a blank room, moved everything out, and got to work. I had already begun painting part of the space- I’m going for a “dipped” look throughout the room because it felt fresh and different.
I moved our old headboard out to the dumpster, and my friend Brad modeled it one last time for me (I’m thinking of framing this, what do you think?)
We added box frame molding from Metrie to the walls, to mimic the feel of the living room design. I wanted the “dipped” walls to feel three dimensional, so adding that little extra touch made it feel more purposeful.
We placed our new Annie Selke rug down in the space, and Max jumped at the chance to pose for a picture immediately.
We installed our new headboard and finally felt like the room was starting to coming together.
I found an awesome pair of vintage mirrors on Craigslist that fit perfectly for the nightstands, so I drove to pick them up this week. I wasn’t sure how the finish would look next to my new lamps, so I had the idea to possibly paint them the same color as the wall (“Railings” by Farrow & Ball). Now that they’re in the space, I think I kinda like them as-is…what do you think?
So, at this point, I’m still waiting on window treatments, my light fixture, and all of my art. Ahh! Do you think it will happen? I appreciate all of your vibes sent me way- I’m going to need them!
See you next week for the reveal! Make sure to follow along with the other linkers and the featured designers this week- I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
